Ace, Fuzzy and I
Today has been one of those rare times when I am home with Asaph and Jubilee. Lis has taken Providence to the doctor, and I get to hang out with the young-ens. I do look forward to these days. It seems like the children are on their best behavior when Pa-pa is around, and I enjoy their company. Today, Jubilee did not fuss or throw a fit when I put her down for her nap, and Ace has been a perfect angel. Right now he is smiling at me from his position on the floor. Wondering if I am going to give him another hand full of popcorn. I am. And he has begun to recognize me for who I am.......his father. His father who hands out treats. He has begun to love gummy bears, and I love to watch him light up when I reach into my drawer. ( where they are kept )
Today I have an opportunity to play with these two kids. To get down on my hands and knees and play. Let them crawl over me, and jump on my back. I get to hear them laugh when I tickle their ribs and nibble their toes. If all of the grown up "stuff" that I need to get done.....does not get done today....it's alright. I will be able to look back on today and be satisfied with these accomplishments. And Ace and Fuzzy, they get the joy of rolling around with Pa-pa. A Pa-pa who takes joy in their presence. All around I'd say it makes for a great day.
